An April Wedding
This time last year I was preparing for an April wedding. The brief was to keep it simple and unfussy, an infomal and natural look, and after our first meeting it was decided the colour palette would consist of creams, greens and blues.....
The table centres (above) consisted of three flower filled jam jars per round table, bursting with Ranunculus, pale blue Nigella, Astilbe, Bupleurum, Rosemary and the wonderfully scented Cornish Narcissi Erlicheer and the pretty blue Scilla from the Scilly Isles.
There was a large vase arrangement of the most beautiful pale blue Delphiniums mixed with the bright green Molucello, tall spikes of vivid green better known as Bells of Ireland.
For the Bridal Bouquet we used a gorgeous pale blue Hydrangea as the feature flower mixed with Ranunculus and Astilbe amongst others and a we made hair flowers in cream for the Bride.
The wedding took place at the Hendon Hall Hotel in North London and on this occasion I had the pleasure of working with my dear friend and fabulous cake maker Gillian from Gilly B's Bakery who made a wonderful tiered fresh fruit and chocolate wedding cake.
Blues are not everyones cup of tea but I think they are a lovely combination when set against greens and creams....they set of the day perfectly......especially that beautiful pale blue, so elegant and pretty.
