Sensational Succulents

Over the last couple of years there has been a rising trend for using mini succulents in wedding flowers, and the trend seems set to continue this year with Brides still requesting them to be used for their big day.  They come in all shapes, sizes and colours from gorgeous ice greens to mauve tinged succulents,  and used correctly they can add something special to your big day.   I especially love them when used in Buttonholes and although they can be labour intensive to use for us florists, they last for days out of their little pots of earth so make fantastic, long lasting additions to your day.  They can be given as wedding favours in rustic terracotta pots tied with twine or used in 'living' table runners for that wow factor.

I love them when used in an all green & white wedding and I prefer to only use a few per arrangement.  Be warned they can make your Bridal bouquet heavy so only used them sparingly in your Bouquet and when your florist quotes on using them be mindful that we need to de-pot them, clean and cut them, stake them, wire and bind them - if you have 200 or more to do that all takes time - its not just the cost of your succulents to take into consideration!

So if you are thinking about using these lovely little pieces of succulent heaven at your wedding, get in touch with your local florist who will be more than happy to go through the options with you.
